Firefighters were called to a seaside town after a disposable barbecue is believed to have caught fire.
Crews were seen putting out the flames in East Street, Folkestone after being called at around 2pm.
Both fishing nets and trees were involved in the incident, which was dealt with using a hose reel.
Ben Funnell, who lives in the nearby Channel View flats, says it took around ten minutes to stop the flames.
The 27-year-old support worker was at home with his son when he smelt smoke nearby.
He said: "It didn't take long for the fire brigade to get down there.
"It wasn't a massive fire - it looked like someone had set a pile of rubble alight."
One fire engine was sent to the scene, and the incident was closed by Kent Fire and Rescue at 2.45pm.
