Shocking pictures show damaged and sinking fishing boats at a harbour as Storm Ciarán continues to batter the Kent coast.
The vessels at Folkestone have been badly affected by the high tide and strong winds today, with some being almost completely submerged in water.
Some boats have been pushed into each other as huge waves hit the area.
On social media, the devastation has been described as a “sad scene” with one commenter saying: “Oh dear, what a mess. It’s usually such a safe harbour.”
The seaside town has seen particularly bad disruption from the weather, with winds of up to 85mph.
Gales in the town were so strong that the windows of two buses were blown out in nearby Capel-le-Ferne.

Fallen trees, flooding and accidents have caused multiple road closures across the county, with one impaling a caravan in Broadstairs.
On the railways, there are still cancellations and delays on most Southeastern services.
