Hundreds of people took the streets as the colourful Charivari Day parade made its way through Folkestone on Saturday.
The parade celebrated its 21st birthday with one of the biggest ever processions in its history as it made its way from the harbour, through the town centre and on to The Leas.
The event, which is hosted and organised by Cheriton-based arts group Strange Cargo, was bathed in sunshine as swathes of colour and noise filled the town.
This year’s procession teamed up with the upcoming Folkestone Triennial and is taking the festival’s theme of Double Edge for inspiration.
Brigitte Orasinski, from Strange Cargo, said: “It went fantastically and I think the whole town came out. The costumes looked amazing.
“Every year I’m amazed at how incredible people’s costumes are.
“We worked with over 700 children and was probably one of the biggest processions we’ve had which was extraordinary.
“The theme was a notion of hybrids. People used their imaginations and we try not to restrict them and give them basic information.
“We tried to give a people a bit more free range. Interestingly we had a lot of animals.”
