Commuters have tonight been facing a nightmare journey home after a trespasser strayed onto the railway near Folkestone.
Passengers have endured up to three hour delays following the incident at around 7pm.
Reports on social media from angry travellers suggest a person was hit by a train.
Network Rail cut off the power supply to the tracks.
Services have started returning to normal some two and a half hours later but minor delays are expected until 10.30pm, according to Southeastern.
The line between Westenhanger and Folkestone Central was blocked in both directions causing massive delays on the line all the way through to Dover Priory and in the opposite direction towards Ashford International.
Lines reopened at 9.40pm.
