Destruction left in the wake of an unauthorised traveller camp has triggered a mass clean up.
Smashed up cars, a ramshackled caravan and tonnes of broken stone has been littered across Folkestone's Park Farm Industrial Estate.
A purple Ford Galaxy, stripped of number plates and packed with rubbish, sits perched in the rubble of a destroyed concrete irrigation funnel, on a short track leading to Linksway.
A green Peugeot 106, full of children's toys, is laid to waste several feet from a five metre drop into Wickes' storage yard - only a broken fence between them.
Among the Park Farm Road wreckage, opposite the B&M store, is a five-metre-long caravan and silver Peugeot 206, with a court eviction notice on the passenger seat.
Kent County Council's order to leave reads: "The defendants to remove themselves, any vehicle or vehicles and other property that they have with them and any other persons with them.
"The court further orders that Kent County Council's officers and servants be authorised to take such steps as are reasonably necessary to ensure this order is committed with."
The debris left on the illegal traveller site
Folkestone Town Sprucers, a group of litter-picking volunteers, cleared 50 bags of rubbish including food waste and soiled nappies throughout the morning.
The volunteer group also gathered baby equipment, gas cannisters, tyres and other car parts for Folkestone and Hythe District Council to clean up.
Both councils and Kent Police have been contacted for comment.
The estate has been subjected to numerous traveller incursions this year, with the latest in early December it is understood.
One estate worker said: "I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, the destruction is incredible.
"It's completely unnecessary to leave this kind of mess.
"If it wasn't for the mess I honestly don't think people would be upset these kind of encampments, it's such a shame.
"The smashed glass is just dangerous."
A council spokesman said: "We’ve been up to inspect the site of this illegal encampment.
"A car and a caravan have been abandoned and rubbish bags are strewn around the site.
"We will arrange to have the vehicles towed away and crushed.
"The site owner, Kent County Council, is aware of the state of the site and will be arranging for the rubbish to be removed."
