Officers at Thames Valley Police are facing misconduct proceedings following an investigation into their handling of Jayden Parkinson’s disappearance.
The 17-year-old was murdered by her ex-boyfriend Ben Blakeley in Didcot, Oxfordshire, and her body was found in a graveyard in December 2013.
Jayden, who grew up in Folkestone, was reported missing before she was killed.
She was buried at St Martin’s Church in Horn Street in Cheriton.
But the highest sanction the force could impose on the three officers and one member of staff is a final written warning, the force said on Monday.
This is because the “processes relate to misconduct and not to gross misconduct”, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police said.
Blakeley was jailed for life after being convicted of Jayden’s murder on July 24, 2014 at Oxford Crown Court.
