A mass vaccination centre in Kent will be opened for walk-ins tomorrow.

The Folca centre in Folkestone will allow anyone aged 23 and over to come in for their first jab, whether they have booked an appointment or not.

The appointment will see anyone in the age bracket – which also includes those who turn 23 before July 1 – able to walk in to the former Debenhams building to get a Pfizer jab.

The opening is for first jabs only, with second jabs still being administered in the recommended eight-week window.

Availability means the opportunity will be for one day only, between 8.30am to 6pm unless doses run out before then. All those attending must bring proof of age.

The move comes as the NHS pledge to offer the vaccination to every adult in the UK by the end of this week.

A spokesperson for Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust warned that anyone turning up will need to be prepared to queue outside for a while.

They said: "We will do our best to keep the wait times to a minimum but it's going to be a hot one.

"As you might expect it's first come, first served and when it's gone it's gone!"

There have been issues with queuing outside the store previously.

Anyone attending has been asked to bring their NHS number to speed the process up.
