The Kooks gig at Folkestone's Leas Cliff Hall rearranged for January 26

Indie band The Kooks’ gig at Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall has been rearranged for next year, the venue has confirmed.

Uncertainty circled earlier this week about whether the four-piece would go ahead with their sell-out date in Kent which was due to be on Monday (December 14) after a family bereavement in the band.

A statement on the band's website and the band's management said it was still going ahead while the Leas Cliff Hall insisted it had been cancelled.

But the band will not come to Folkestone next week and a new date for the concert has been fixed for Tuesday, January 26 with doors opening at 7pm.

The Kooks were due to tour the UK on 10 dates this month but have cancelled their other scheduled performances in Manchester, Glasgow, York, Nottingham, Norwich and Southampton.

Ticket holders have been told their original tickets will be valid for the rearranged show.
