A main road is still blocked in both directions following a landslide which happened more than 24 hours ago.
The Road of Remembrance in Folkestone remains inaccessible due to a tree and soil covering the route.
Traffic data site Inrix has confirmed the road is blocked from The Leas to A260 Lower Sandgate Road.
Danny Griggs saw the mess on the way home from the pub at 1am yesterday, but the road still hasn’t reopened.
He said: “I saw a car had stopped just ahead of us and I didn’t realise why it had until I actually got up close.
“The obstruction covered both lanes and it’s definitely a landslide, not just a fallen tree, as there is soil everywhere.
“It’ll need quite a big clean-up, it’s the main road to get from the harbour to the town.”
A police spokesman confirmed it was reported to the force at around 2am and that it is being dealt with by Kent Highways.
A KCC spokesperson said: “We are liaising with colleagues at Folkestone and Hythe District Council and are assessing and monitoring the site.
“The road will remain closed for the time being with public safety our main concern and there is no current timeframe for reopening.”
KCC confirmed an update on the situation will be available tomorrow.
