A Kent library has extended its closure "until at least the end of March".
Kent County Council (KCC) has taken the decision to extend the closure of Folkestone library, in Grace Hill, as they seek options to reduce the cost of works required to the building.
The branch was suddenly closed in December after flooding caused water damage to the premises and it was deemed to be unsafe.
A spokesperson from KCC said: "KCC has explored potential options to seek to reduce the cost of works required, but at this time regrets to advise that the temporary closure must remain in place, until at least the end of March while the outcome of investigations are given further consideration.
"KCC recognises that this will be a disappointment to all who use and value the library building on Grace Hill."
The authority plans on giving an update on the closure once this has been reviewed.
Extended opening hours will be offered at the libraries in Wood Avenue, Hythe and Cheriton, with additional birth and death registrations being provided in the Hythe branch.
In December, KCC apologised for the disruption the shut down would cause and claimed "the closure was unavoidable".
It is not the first time the library has had to closed due to flooding in recent years.
In 2019 the branch was shut after storms.
