A man is due to appear in court charged with five counts of assault after members of the public were reportedly spat at and attacked.
During the afternoon of Wednesday, May 10, police were called to Sandling Road, Lyminge, where a man was arrested following a disturbance on the roadside.
Members of the public reported being assaulted and spat at.
During the same incident an officer and a police car were spat at, and a custody cell was urinated in.
As part of an investigation into the incident, officers charged Nicholas Culpain, 31, of Folkestone Road, Dover, the following day with several offences.
He is accused of assault of an emergency worker, damage of police property, damage of a police vehicle, four counts of assault by beating, and being drunk and disorderly.
He was released on bail to attend Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 6.
