A man from Hertfordshire has been charged with allegedly assaulting a man and possessing an offensive weapon.

Graham Peel, 33, of Rowan Drive in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, appeared before Medway Magistrates today via virtual court link.

It is claimed he was in possession of a screwdriver in Canterbury Road, Folkestone, on Tuesday, December 20.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday, February 21.
