A man in his early 60s has been killed in an accident which led to A20 tailbacks from Dover to Folkestone today.

He was driving a van, which was the only vehicle involved, when the accident happened at 5.45am at the Western Heights roundabout.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services removed the man from the wreckage. Inquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash.

The man's identity has not been revealed.
