Police shut Cheriton Road, Folkestone, as paramedics treated boy hit by car before taking him to London hospital

A boy was taken to a London hospital after being hit by a car.

Police closed Cheriton Road in Folkestone following reports of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian.

The route was sealed off shortly before 10pm on Saturday, with the air ambulance also arriving at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “We were called shortly before 10pm on Saturday to Cheriton Road, Folkestone, following reports a car had collided with a pedestrian.

“The male pedestrian was taken to a London hospital for treatment to his injuries.”

A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesperson said crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before being joined by the air ambulance.

The patient was then transported via road to a London hospital for further medical treatment.
