Man charged with carrying out serious assault in Folkestone town centre after victim taken to hospital

A man has been charged with carrying out a serious assault after an alleged fight in a town centre.

Emergency services were called to Sandgate Road in Folkestone following reports of an altercation between a group of people just after 9am on Tuesday.

The victim, a man, was taken to hospital for treatment while two people were arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers from Folkestone CID have since charged Bradley Cooper with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, racially aggravated assault and criminal damage to a police vehicle.

The 37-year-old, of Langhorne Gardens, Folkestone, is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court today.

A woman who was also arrested at the scene has been bailed pending further inquiries.
