Police say a man and woman witnessed the incident on the one-way street, then continued driving to Shorncliffe Road - near the junction with Castle Hill Avenue - when the moped rider approached them.

Threats were then reportedly made to the pair and the paintwork of their car was scratched with a knife, during what is understood to have been a road rage row on December 17.

An 18-year-old man from London was arrested on December 19 in connection with the incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage recorded in the area at the time of the offences to come forward.

Anyone with information should call 01843 222289 quoting 46/213850/24.
