Mum's tribute to Baby P

A mother-of-five is urging others to be part of a national event in memory of Baby P, the toddler who died after being beaten by his mother and her boyfriend.

Donna Rawlings, of Cheriton, plans to release a blue balloon on December 6 at 3pm, as hundreds are being sent off in London, where a march is also to take place.

She hopes other people will do the same, or light a candle in memory of the tragic 17-month-old child from Haringey, North London.

She said: “I intend to print leaflets and post them through doors in my local community, with a blue balloon, to urge people to take part, to show their respect for little Baby P.

“It is sad that it has taken the death of an innocent baby before people sit up and take notice. We need to unite against that monsters that live within our society and fight for justice for that little angel.

“I think doing something, even if it is small, is better than sitting back and doing nothing.”
