A new Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail bar has now opened in Folkestone...four months later than scheduled.
Due to the UK's third lockdown earlier this year, Rosemont's original scheduled opening date in January was out of the question.
But it is now welcoming customers and was fully booked on its grand opening night yesterday (Wednesday).
It has been launched by husband and wife team Mujde and Onder Erdogan, who say it has been their dream to open such a restaurant.
Mrs Erdogan said: "We are so pleased. It is exactly how we imagined it. We wanted a post modern, art deco design and to create a place for fine dining.
"Yesterday was our opening night, and we were fully booked which is so brilliant. Because of Covid, we can only open at half capacity.
"Everyone loved it and said how nice it was."
The couple also held two soft opening evenings on Monday and Tuesday, where friends, family and other supporters were invited to attend.
Money raised from these two nights is to be donated to the East Kent hospital charity.
The restaurant can be found in Majestic Parade, on the corner of Sandgate Road and Castle Hill Avenue.
It replaced long-running chinese restaurant, Hop Kweng, which closed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Dishes on Rosemont's menu include hot and cold meze platters, salmon, lamb and tagines.
A brunch menu is also available, plus cocktails and mocktails.
Rosemont will be open seven days a week, 10am to midnight, except on Sunday when it closes at 11pm.
Outdoor seating is also available.
Mrs Erdogan recommends booking in advance, but says walk ins will be accepted space permitted.
She added: "We can proudly say we are overwhelmed with the support we are receiving."
Mr and Mrs Erdogan also own Folkestone Kebab & Pizza House, also in Majestic Parade, and Radiance Clinic, in Shellons Street.
