A new restaurant from the team behind an acclaimed Champagne bar is set to open at a seaside dining destination later this month.
The Lighthouse Tasting Rooms in Folkestone will offer bistro-style dining, an on-site delicatessen and a stage for live music.
It is the latest project on the Folkestone Harbour Arm from the Robinson family, who already run the popular bar in the former lighthouse at the end of the pier.
The Lighthouse Champagne Bar, which enjoys stunning views of the Channel and the White Cliffs towards Dover, has previously been recognised as the best bar in the county at the 2021 Muddy Stilettos Awards.
Reservations for the new venue can be made for dates from June 30.
It will occupy the space previously home to the Waiting Room bar and Dinos’ Pizzeria.
Paulo Kingston-Correia, the general manager of Folkestone Harbour Arm, said: "We are delighted to announce the opening of the Lighthouse Tasting Rooms, on Platform 4 of the Harbour Arm, from the Robinson family, the creators of the much-loved Lighthouse Champagne Bar.
"The Tasting Rooms will bring aspects of the Champagne Bar to a large indoor venue showcasing an eclectic mix of bar, bistro and music delivered year-round.
"We are really pleased to be able to support the development of another local business which brings together our redevelopment of Platform 4 of the Harbour Arm as a year-round venue with the Tastings Rooms, Wildbox and Desert Folkes."
The announcement of the new venture comes hot on the heels of the news that Macknade Fine Foods, which has branches in Ashford and Faversham, is to open its latest restaurant and shop in the nearby Harbourside development.
Shane Godwin, managing director of Macknade, said: "Folkestone represents an incredibly exciting phase for us, and our new space forms a key part of the development and regeneration that is taking place across the town."
