A squad of football players have taken their kit off for a semi-nude calendar to raise valuable funds to keep their club going.
Hawkinge Town Football Club’s players have posed strategically for a revealing 2017 calendar, set to raise money in-house and to appeal to Christmas shoppers.
The team’s home ground is based at Hawkinge Community Football Sports Trust Pitches in Pavillion Road.
The idea was thought up by team manager Danny Regan and is branded a “spoof” of the famous Dieux du Stade rugby player calendar which is released annually.
All of the photographs were taken by Mr Regan and assistant manager Damian Abel.
Mr Regan said: “We’re pushing for promotion this season and with that the club will need more money to function at a higher standard.
“The lads jumped at the chance to take their kits off and be in the pictures.
“Some of them enjoyed it a tad too much if I’m honest but it’s all for a good cause!”
The calendar has gone on sale today and costs £7.50.
A fiver from each sale goes directly to the club.
