One person has been injured and taken to hospital after two crashes happened in the same area, around the same time, on a busy motorway.

Emergency crews were called to junction 12 (Cheriton) of the M20 at 2.03pm today after a collision between a car and small lorry.

A police spokesman said another crash also involving two cars has been reported nearby.

One person was injured and has been treated by paramedics before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

Officers are at the scene and drivers have been warned to expect delays.
