A technical problem has forced passengers and freight to wait several hours at the Eurotunnel terminal.
Meanwhile, a huge pile-up on the M20 added to motorists' woes, with lanes shut on the M20 earlier this afternoon.
The problem at Eurotunnel in Folkestone meant one of the tunnels was closed, causing lengthy delays of up to four hours.
This is now easing, with passenger traffic getting back to normal and freight having to wait just 30 minutes.
Traffic around the M20 crash - which involved two lorries and a car on the coastbound carriageway - is also now easing.
The accident was between J11 for Hythe and J11A for the Channel Tunnel.
All lanes are now open, with recovery work completed and the accident cleared.
Lanes one and two of three were earlier closed, but now only the exit slip road heading onto J11A is still shut.
One person has been taken to hospital with non-serious injuries, a police spokesman confirmed.
