X-ray machines at Royal Victoria Hospital in Folkestone 'to be fixed within 24 hours'

A hospital trust has assured patients that an X-Ray department will be up and running tomorrow after its machines experienced "technical problems."

Patients with appointments for x-rays at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Folkestone have had to travel to Buckland Hospital in Dover today.

This is the nearest department that offers x-rays and is about eight miles away and a 20 minute drive.

East Kent Hospitals’ spokesman Steve James, said: “The two x-ray machines at the Royal Victoria Hospital have had technical problems, but engineers have been called and both should be up and running within 24 hours.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that patients may have experienced but can assure them that there will be no backlog in x-ray processing.

“When possible and practical, we have advised patients to use our nearby locations in east Kent – such as the Buckland Hospital – which have alternative X-ray facilities.”
