A man and a woman are in custody over an alleged assault which left a man fighting for his life in hospital.
Police and ambulance crews were called to a property in Folkestone shortly after 5.30pm yesterday.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was airlifted to hospital in London with serious injuries. He is said to be in a "critical but stable condition".

Police have not confirmed reports that he was stabbed but arrested two people, a spokesman said.
They added: "A 34-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, both from Folkestone, have been arrested in connection with the incident."
Officers were called to Risborough Lane in Cheriton and taped off a car park area behind an Indian restaurant while forensic teams carried out inquiries.

They also carried out door to door inquiries at several houses in the street.
The air ambulance which took the victim to hospital landed in a nearby park behind Morehall Primary School.
Drivers reported delays in the area, with at least five police cars and ambulances at the scene.
