Banksy or not Banksy, Folkestone's latest flirtation with the street artist appears to be over already.
The rat painting which appeared on an amusement arcade wall on Friday has been damaged.
Rat Buff, which was daubed on the same wall where the genuine piece Art Buff was last year, has been spray painted over.
A man was spotted in a red beanie hat with a black back pack and mountain bike reportedly spraying over the top of the rat.
Exactly a year to the day when Art Buff was cut away from the very same wall residents spotted the rat being smeared in paint.
The piece then became the subject of a lengthy legal battle after it was controversially taken away to swarms of protests by residents.
But the latest addition the wall in Payers Park took a more tongue in cheek look at the whole saga.
A rat holding a sign which says "Missing... old lady. If found please contact Alastair" referring to the Creative Foundation's chief executive Alastair Upton.
It has not been confirmed yet whether 'Rat Buff' is indeed a genuine Banksy although some social media reports have suggested the piece appeared briefly on the artist's website.
