The famous Red Arrows will return for the Folkestone Airshow, it has now been confirmed.
Organisers revealed that the RAF flying aces will be the star performer on the event’s first day, Saturday, June 7.
Open Air Promotions Ltd also said that the day will also end with a live concert on Folkestone seafront.
Project manager Yvonne Holder said; “It’s wonderful news that Folkestone has been included in this year’s display by the Red Arrows.
“The team is in great demand by air show organisers all over the country."
The world famous aerobatics team had in particular stunned crowds during the Folkestone Jubilee Airshow in 2012. They returned to Folkestone the following summer, although the airshow itself was not held.
Folkestone Airshow is this year in The Leas and Harbour area on June 7 and 8 and will feature other aircraft.
These will include a Lancaster bomber and two Spitfires, Tucano and Grob Tutor aerobatic planes.
There will also be the Breitling Wingwalkers, the only formation wingwalking team in the world.
The weekend includes music from Bjorn Again plus multi-instrumentalist Chris Andre and a fireworks display.
The Red Arrows’ arrival in Folkestone is subject to operational requirements.
The full timetable for the events in the air and the programme of displays, exhibitions, entertainment and activities will be announced shortly.
