A teenage girl has been been knocked down by a car.

The A260 Canterbury Road at Swingfield Minnis was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident near Recce Lane.

It affected traffic travelling between Folkestone and Wootton, but delays have since cleared.

The accident happened at 7.48am and the girl was treated by ambulance crews.

Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road had reopened by 9.30am.
