Police and Coastguard called to The Stade, Folkestone, after concerns for person's welfare

A search was carried out this morning following concerns for a person's welfare.

Police and the coastguard were called to The Stade in Folkestone at 9.55am.

Searches were carried out around the beach at Sunny Sands but this was later called off when the person was found to be safe.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police officers assisted HM Coastguard from 9.55am on Sunday, February 6 after concerns were raised for a person near The Stade, Folkestone.

"The person was later located safe and well."
