Robbers made off with money, cigarettes and alcohol from a convenience store in Folkestone last night.
A staff member was also threatened during the raid on the Best One shop in Black Bull Road in the east of the town at 10.35pm.
Officers are now investigating the incident in which three men believed to be in their 20s entered the shop.
The incident took place between 10.35pm and 10.45pm and the trio left the premises on foot.
Early reports suggested the men were carrying a large knife but Kent Police was unable to confirm that the raiders were armed.
A police spokesman said inquiries were ongoing and that the member of staff was not seriously injured.
