Suspect charged after alleged thefts from vehicles in the Broadmead Road area of Folkestone

Police apprehended a suspect just minutes after receiving reports of someone breaking into vehicles shortly after midnight.

Officers went to the Broadmead Road area of Folkestone after a call that a number of thefts were taking place.

They arrived at the scene at around 12.30am on Thursday, and within 15 minutes they had arrested a suspect.

A police spokesman said: “At the scene it was confirmed that three vehicles parked in the area had been broken into.

“Items believed to be stolen, including a parking badge, phone chargers and sunglasses, were recovered. A folding lock knife was also seized.”

Daniel Morrison, 33 and of no fixed address, was charged with criminal damage and theft offences, as well as vehicle interference and possession of a knife in a public place.

He was remanded to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court.
