A YOUTH of 17 has been remanded in custody by Folkestone magistrates charged with murdering 24-year-old David Hoad.
The teenager, from Cheriton, near Folkestone, cannot be named for legal reasons. He was refused bail.
He was arrested last Monday, together with a 19-year-old man, who has since been released without charge.
The 17-year-old, who spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth, was charged on Thursday night. The case has been adjourned until Tuesday (May 27) when he will appear before Folkestone youth court.
Mr Hoad was found dead at his flat in Cheriton High Street. He had been stabbed in the chest.
