A toddler was found wandering alone down a road, police have said.
Officers were called after members of the public found the child near a junction with a busy road in Folkestone yesterday.
While the age of the infant involved was not officially confirmed by police, social media posts say it was a toddler.
After police were called to Hollands Avenue, near the junction with Wear Bay Road, the parent of the child then appeared and they were confirmed to be unharmed.
A police spokesman confirmed that officers attended the scene to check on the welfare of the child.
"Police were called at 2.06pm yesterday following a report an unaccompanied child had been found by a member of the public in Hollands Avenue, Folkestone," he added.
"While the caller was on the phone to police, the parent of the child arrived at the scene.
"Officers attended to ensure everyone was safe and well."
