Several Tories met in a Folkestone pub this evening as party members continued to drum up support to make Rishi Sunak our next Prime Minister.
Folkestone and Hythe Conservatives president Lord Howard of Lympne and Conservative MP Liam Fox were seen at the Nailbox in Coolinge Lane earlier this evening.
The pair were joined by other Folkestone and Hythe Conservative members including branch chairman Stephen James who tweeted earlier today that he was excited to host Liam Fox.
In his Tweet he also wrote: "The former Conservative chairman and party leader reunited and hoping to persuade me and other undecided members to vote for Rishi Sunak."
The group was seen posing for photos holding "Ready for Rishi" signs.
Cllr Dylan Jeffrey, Kent County Council and Folkestone Town Councillor and agent for Folkestone and Hythe Conservatives, later tweeted: "Good to have Liam Fox at The Nailbox in my KCC division with Lord Howard, Stephen James and FH Conservatives discussing the leadership contest and why members should get back and support Rishi Sunak. I currently am undecided and like many will wait to hear more."
The pub declined to comment this evening, only to say most of the party had now left.
After the event, Liam Fox Tweeted to say that he was pleased to speak to Conservatives party members in Folkestone this evening.
He added: "It was clear that most undecided voters have switched to Rishi Sunak, another indication that this contest is far closer than the polls are suggesting."
