Signs have gone up at a petrol station which is set to welcome a Greggs outlet in the coming weeks.
The Shell garage in Cheriton, Folkestone, is the latest to get a branch of the popular bakery chain.
It will be the town’s first Greggs – with residents previously having to travel to Dover or Ashford to grab one of the company’s famous sausage rolls or steak bakes.
The site is set to open in the next few weeks.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “Greggs is due to open a new shop in Folkestone in the next few weeks operated by our franchise partner, MFG.
“We look forward to welcoming Greggs fans and new customers to come try our range of tasty bakes, hot drinks and sweet treats”.
Work has started inside the unit and a signs have gone up at the site but an official opening date is yet to be announced.
Another branch in New Romney opened in March, Kent’s first drive-thru Greggs opened for business in Sittingbourne in February.
Last month, Greggs revealed big expansion plans after reporting record high sales, as consumers flocked to the bakery chain for low-cost meals amid a cost-of-living squeeze.
The bakery chain reported total sales of £1.5 billion over 2022, a 23% surge on the £1.2 billion reported the previous year.
