Rail services have been disrupted in part of the county after a train hit a shopping trolley.
The locomotive had to be moved backwards to remove the debris after the collision near Folkestone West station shortly before 7pm.
Services in both directions were put on hold while the driver investigated and later Kent-bound trains were allowed to run past the area, although they are going slower than usual.
The electrical current has been switched back on and the lines are fully reopen once again.
Tickets were being accepted on high speed services while buses were arranged between Dover and Ashford.
Officers from British Transport Police worked with train operator Southeastern and Network Rail to remove the trolley.
