Troubled skatepark's future looking brighter

THE future of Folkestone's skatepark is looking a little brighter following a public meeting.

Shepway District Council chief executive Alistair Stewart gave his personal assurance that a solution will be found swiftly for the noise nuisance that has led to complaints from residents in neighbouring homes and the threat of closure.

The Folkestone Sports Centre Trust, which manages the centre, is waiting for the district council to give the go ahead to get an acoustic fence for the site which will minimise the sound of the boards and blades hitting the ramps.
