Two charged with attempted murder after man spotted ‘soaked in blood’ in Folkestone cul-de-sac stabbing

Two men have been charged with attempted murder after a serious assault in a residential cul-de-sac.

Neighbours said a man was left “covered in blood” after the assault in Firs Lane, Folkestone, on Friday.

The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries, including one “consistent with a stab wound.”

He was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The incident happened at 10.45am. Shortly after, police stopped a car in Dymchurch and arrested two men.

Two further men were detained later the same day.

All parties are understood to be known to each other.

Today, detectives charged Abdul Gunes, 73, of The Leas, Folkestone, and Necdet Gunes, 45, of Windmill Close, Folkestone, with attempted murder.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The two other men were released without charge.
