TWO men have appeared in court jointly charged with murdering a 24-year-old man at his home.

Stuart Benson, 25, of Charles Crescent, Folkestone, and Antony Parsons, 27, of Plain Road, Folkestone, are accused of killing Ben Chantler.

The victim was shot at his home in Denmark Street, Folkestone, on Sunday, January 29. He died from gunshot wounds in hospital the following day.

Benson and Parsons appeared before Folkestone magistrates on Monday. Both were remanded in custody and there was no application for bail.

The magistrates sent the case to Maidstone Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing on Monday, February 20.

Another man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder has been released without charge.

At the opening of an inquest Mr Chantler's death at Ashford last Friday the cause of his death was given as gunshot wounds. The hearing was told he was a labourer.
