When you've got to go... don't do it on the hard shoulder only a mile away from services.
That was the lesson one lorry driver learnt on the M20 yesterday afternoon when police saw an HGV parked up near Hythe.
Officers were surprised to see a driver crouched on the verge defecating.
Police spokesman Jon Green said: "He stopped as soon as he became aware of their presence, when they sounded the air horn."
There are services at the junction 11 turning with lorry parking facilities at Stop24.
The driver was issued with a £30 fixed penalty notice for stopping on the hard shoulder, which he paid on the spot.
Officers today gave another lorry driver a ticket for urinating on the verge after stopping on the hard shoulder.
