A Facebook user “with a short fuse” armed herself with a blade and hunted down a man after a row over their dogs.
Abbie Thompson, 36, brandished the kitchen knife outside Nicholas Lucas’ Folkestone home screaming “I will stab you and your dog up.”
Thompson, who is from the town and has 58 convictions for 118 offences, has now been jailed for one year at Canterbury Crown Court.
The Facebook exchange came after Thompson and Mr Lucas had an argument in the street, prosecutors said.
It resulted in Thompson posting a tirade of foul language towards Mr Lucas on a public community page, John Carmichael explained.
Shortly after writing "If you have something to say, say it to my face,” Thompson appeared outside Mr Lucas’ home in Shaftesbury Avenue, where she made threats for five to 10 minutes.
“And before she went away she used the knife to stab the fence panels,” Mr Carmichael explained.
One eye-witness feared for her own safety and the wellbeing of an elderly woman, he added.
The internet row spilled onto the streets in the morning of November 16, with Thompson having recently been released from prison on licence for separate offences, the court heard.
Her lawyer Paul Hogben explained Thompson has a short fuse and had made recent progress with an alcohol and drug problem.
“She was not under the influence of alcohol, she was sober, this offence is a loss of control, she lost her temper,” he said.
“And the reason behind it is clear from the statement of Mr Lucas who said there had been an unhappy meeting between himself and Miss Thompson.”
He added Thompson, who appeared via videolink from HMP Bronzefield, “has a short fuse” and became enraged after Mr Lucas made remarks about her on the website.
Thompson pleaded guilty to criminal damage, sending malicious communications and threatening a person with a blade in a public place.
Handing down a 12 month prison sentence, Judge Catherine Brown said: “Given the background of the threat made by you to Mr Lucas and the surrounding circumstances it is not surprising he felt scared and that he now feels wary.
“The incident was witnessed by another person and she too said she feared for her safety and also that of the elderly lady she was standing at a bus stop with, given how aggressive you were being.
“However I also take into account you did not in fact go in very close proximity to Mr Lucas.”
"The incident was witnessed by another person and she too said she feared for her safety and also that of the elderly lady she was standing at a bus stop with..."
Thompson, of Risborough Lane, Folkestone, was handed a 28 week prison sentence in June for making threats to kill, harassment and perverting the course of justice after attempting to intimidate another victim.
