POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a 22-year-old woman was attacked in Folkestone. The serious assault took place under a railway bridge in Guildhall Street, between 2am-2.30am last Thursday. The road was closed for several hours while a forensic team searched the area.

This week specially-trained police officers are speaking to the victim. Her attacker is described as a tall, black man, aged between 25 and 30.

Police want to hear from anyone who might have witnessed the attack or has information about the offender. Officers can be contacted on 01303 850055.
