A 26-year-old woman denied prostitution charges when she appeared before a judge at Maidstone Crown Court.

Hai Huong Truong, of Sussex Road, New Romney, near Hythe, is on bail accused of controlling prostitution for gain between March 1, 2004 and December 16 last year.

She is also accused of trafficking in the UK for sexual exploitation over the same period and assisting in the management of brothels in Folkestone.

Judge Michael Lawson, QC, set the trial date for January 22 next year.
