POLICE have charged an 18-year-old woman after she allegedly made a telephone call claiming there was a bomb in the Channel Tunnel.

Maria Davies, unemployed, of County Durham, is accused of making the call during the early hours of yesterday (June 2). She has been charged with communicating false information.

She is due to appear before magistrates at Folkestone on Tuesday, June 10.
