A woman, who was believed to be in her mid 20s, was found dead at a property after calls for her welfare were made to the police.
Officers were called at 10am today in Harbour Way, Folkestone, but could not reach her.
It is understood officers had to force entry into the building.
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the property along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service where the woman was declared deceased at the scene.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and next of kin have been informed."
The fire service confirmed it was called as a co-responder at 10.40am and remained at the scene until just after midday.
All emergency services had left the scene by 2pm.
