A five-year-old boy has been rescued by firefighters after a wheelie bin caught alight against a three-storey property made up of flats in London Street, Folkestone.

Crews attended the scene just after 4.30am, and tackled flames with a hose reel jet and cleared smoke and fumes from the building with a ventilation fan.

The cause of the fire is not thought to be deliberate.
