DETECTIVES are appealing for information and witnesses after a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on a Kent beach.

The incident occurred on Sunny Sands Beach at Folkestone at around 3am on Saturday, June 9.

The woman had been in the area with some friends and had swam in the sea just before the assault took place. Before that she had been in Piper’s nightclub in Folkestone's Tontine Street.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area to come forward to assist with the investigation. They would also like to speak to a white man with long, blond hair who was wearing a brown shirt.

Detectives have released CCTV images of people who may be able to help with their investigations.
