SIMON GLOVER: Opened the scoring
MARK MUNDAY: Thurd goal in four games

Erith & Belvedere 0 Folkestone Invicta 2

HEADED goals early in both halves from Simon Glover and Mark Munday gave Folkestone Invicta victory at Erith & Belvedere in the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Glover opened the scoring in the tenth minute when he turned in an Andy Burke cross from the left after the game’s first corner.

Invicta started with captain Scott Lindsey back in the heart of the midfield and Glover partnering Paul Sykes in attack, with James Dryden dropping to the bench.

Burke returned to the left flank, with Steve Norman at left back and Adam Flanagan reverting to the centre of defence alongside John Guest.

After the first goal, Erith hit back to create the better of the first half chances and were unlucky after 17 minutes when Paul Abbott's shot from outside the penalty area struck the underside of the crossbar following a good run.

They were denied by the woodwork again after 33 minutes when Joe Narty’s shot beat Kessell, but failed to beat the right-hand post.

Invicta hit the post themselves within 30 seconds of the restart when Sykes sidefooted against the upright after Glover had burst into the box.

Glover then nearly got in round goalkeeper Seitsonen after defender Darren Williams had misjudged the bounce from a Kessell kick.

A second goal looked on the cards and Munday's powerful header from Kevin Wilson’s pinpoint cross, his third goal in four matches, gave Invicta breathing space on 56 minutes.

Goalscorers Munday and Glover combined to carve out a chance for Everitt in the 62nd minute, but this time goalkeeper Seitsonen kept out the header.

Nartey brought another save out of Kessell before the final whistle but Neil Cugley's side were on their way to a third successive clean sheet.

Folkestone Invicta: Kessell, Watson, Norman, Flanagan, Guest, Lindsey, M. Everitt, Munday (J. Everitt 84 mins), Glover, Sykes (Coleman 87 mins), Burke (Dryden 45 mins). Subs Not Used: Dyson, Morrin.
