Promotion is now just one win away for Folkestone Invicta.

Neil Cugley's side will be crowned Ryman League Division 1 South champions if they beat Walton & Hersham at the Fullicks Stadium on Good Friday.

They set up the title shot by winning 2-1 at Worthing on Saturday to stay 16 points clear with six games remaining.

Cugley said: "It was ever so satisfying. In my own mind, if it was staying 0-0 I was going to chase the game anyway and try to get a win, even if we lost it.

"It worked out well in the end and it’s exactly how we want it to be. It’s a lovely feeling and hopefully we perform in front of our own people.

"We’d like to do it but Walton & Hersham aren’t going to let us do it if they can help it.

"It was a big game on Saturday and there were lots of Folkestone people there - I couldn’t believe how many of them made the trip. We wanted to make it worthwhile for them.

"It was very pleasing to make it fall into place how we wanted to.

"It doesn’t always happen like that in football, and it might still not, but at least it’s in our hands."

Folkestone have reduced admission prices on Good Friday to £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
