Folkestone Invicta are out to finally end leaders Burgess Hill’s unbeaten start to the season tonight.

The Sussex side have been almost unstoppable so far in 2014-15, winning 32 of 39 games in all competitions and dropping just 10 points in Ryman League Division 1 South.

They knocked Conference club Aldershot out of the FA Trophy last month, having beaten Folkestone in an earlier round.

But Invicta held the Hillians to a draw on their own ground before losing in the replay – and they’re only four points behind the title favourites going into tonight’s clash.

So do Neil Cugley’s side really believe they can succeed where all others have failed by taking three points off Burgess Hill?

"Of course we do," said the Folkestone manager. "Nobody’s that good in this league that you should fear them.

"We’ll go there and set our stall out and we’re stronger now than when we played them before. We’ll go there and try to pass the ball well. It’ll be about whoever takes their chances.

Burgess Hill have at least three games in hand over all the teams immediately below them, so the title looks like theirs to lose.

Cugley admitted: "It’ll be difficult for anyone to catch them but we have got them twice, so who knows? We didn’t get the start to the season we wanted and if we’d had the squad then which we’ve got now, maybe it would be a bit tighter.

"You’ve got to think they’re favourites now. They haven’t lost a (league) game and they’re good at home. It’s not an easy place to go."
