Folkestone Invicta want to sign former Gillingham striker Ashley Miller from Hythe Town.

Miller has scored nine goals in 15 appearances for the Cannons since joining them from Maidstone United in September.

He's out with a hamstring injury at the moment but Folkestone boss Neil Cugley wants to bring him to the Fullicks Stadium to bolster his strikeforce.

Cugley confirmed he had lodged a seven-day approach for a forward and his opposite number, Hythe manager Tim Dixon, revealed Miller was the player in question.

"I’ve got no problem with that," he said. "I phoned Ashley as soon as it came in on Saturday morning.

"I spoke to Neil and I said ‘if you want to speak to him, speak to him - I’ll give you his number’.

"The lad’s injured at the moment but he’s a cracking player.

"He’s valuable to us and I was planning to team him up with Thommo (Craig Thompson) and Luke Harvey but I might not be able to do that now.

"We’ll have to see if he’s happy where he is, at Hythe."

Folkestone, third in Ryman League Division 1 South, have recently seen forwards Paul Booth and Joe Taylor leave the club to join Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge Angels respectively.

At the other end of the table, Hythe are 19th, seven points above the relegation zone.
